This class is ideal for teens/adults ages 18+ interested in enhancing their swimming skills and keeping fit in the water without the competiveness of swim team. All participants must be able to complete 50 yards of all four strokes continuously. This program will focus on fitness, endurance, and stroke refinement through direct coaching from an instructor. You will work through a variety of drills for all 4 strokes, as well as proper form for flip turns, open turns, and dives/starts from the blocks.

Adult Level I
For adults who are new to the water. The goal is to overcome fear of the water and teach basic swimming techniques. Skills taught include water adjustment, floating on the back and stomach, flutter kicking on your stomach and back, arm action for the front crawl and the elementary backstroke.

Adult Level 2
Participants further coordinate the front crawl with rotary breathing and backstroke. New strokes include elementary backstroke and breaststroke. The goal is to incorporate stroke development, build endurance and adjust to being in deep water.

Join us as we create memories to last a lifetime. Campers travel every day to find adventure all around Columbus. A few of our current adventures include kayaking, bowling, swimming, ninja courses and various metro parks (and we keep adding to our lineup)! All field trip fees, camp T-shirt and snacks are included in the camp fee. Campers need to pack their lunch every day. Specific activities vary week-to-week.

Weekly registration opens on March 15 to Dublin residents and school district residents. Registration begins on March 20 for Non-Residents. Not available for priority registration.

Let's dance! Join Valemee trainers for a weekly dance party and learn 4-5 new dance moves each week. All dance moves can be adapted with assistance from Valemee certified trainers and participants are always welcome to freestyle their own dance moves. Providers or caregivers are welcome to attend.

Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged. An energy-fueled rock opera, “American Idiot” relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking album to execute the storyline.

In this art history presentation, discussion focuses on medieval sculpture from the realism of the Roman Empire to the return of classical ideals of the Early Renaissance. Progress through the evolution of art in the thousand years marking the Middle Ages, and to the return of large-scale formations that still stand today.

Do not throw away your shot! Participants will collaborate, select, and prepare audition material appropriate to the individual and various audition requirements. Training includes original choreography rep classes, master class acting instruction, private singing instruction, and audition insights from industry professionals. A mock audition will be conducted utilizing professional directors (6/13/24). Participants will perform their best audition package at a showcase open to the public on Friday (6/14/24).

This program is specifically for college-bound individuals preparing for campus life this fall. Engage in basic self-defense techniques through classroom-style presentations and hands-on exercises. Those who complete the session receive a personal alarm device.

No scripts - only your imagination! The “Friday Night Live Summer Acting Camp” teaches our kid campers (ages 13-17) the basics of the art of improvisation in a friendly environment. Participants will create improvisational pieces (Comedic/ Dramatic TV Show & Commercial) from scratch which will be performed in the “Talent Agency/ Casting Director Showcase.” The showcase will be a red-carpet event that includes a talent agent/ casting director, friends, and family.

Experience the lights, camera, and rush of being on a professional film set! During “Project Green Light” teen film camp, each weekday is split between in class instruction and on-set production. Teens will act and direct their own short movies as they discover the rewards and challenges of acting and directing for the camera. Students will also get the opportunity to apply the lessons they learn in the classroom on a real film set. At the end of the camp, the films can be shared on social media, used on your demo reel, or kept on a private link and used as an educational experience.

Experience what it is like to act in Hollywood and on Broadway! Each day, campers receive a script, memorize their lines, perform two Broadway pieces (Play/Monologue) and two Hollywood pieces (Commercial/Film script) in the Talent Agency Showcase.
The showcase will be a red-carpet event that includes talent agents, friends and family.

Camp Kaltenbach is the second step in our summer camp experience that provides age specific activities for continued growth in social development, self-esteem, and independence. This full day structured camp provides a variety of exploratory activities in sport, science, nature and art. Campers swim once a week and participate in a field trip at the end of the summer.

Performers ages 14 & up work with theatre professionals and actors to produce, rehearse, and perform in an inclusive theatre production of the hybrid musical Could You Hug A Cactus? Based on a collection of whimsical poems, Could You Hug A Cactus is a musical revue which follows a group of people as they come together to create a show that is bursting with poetry and creativity. Participants must be available to rehearse on Sundays and Tuesdays, and must be available for a performance on June 9. Learn the basics of six ballroom dances: Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot. Designed specifically for couples to develop skills in leading, following and social dance etiquette, build on your dance experience each week with new moves and techniques. Registration is per participant and open to both new and experienced dancers.

The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers with First Aid course is to teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers and health care providers) the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. This course also teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

This course follows the strict guidelines of the American Red Cross. Our instructors are required to follow these guidelines at all times. This class is taught as a blended learning course, which means that the participant completes part of the course prior to attending the first day of class. A link to the online portion of the class is emailed at least one week prior to class and the estimated completion time is four hours. Proof of completion of the online course must be turned in to Michael Mocsiran ([email protected]) no later than the first day of class.

Refund Policy
A cancellation request form must be submitted to the front desk of the DCRC at least 7 business days prior to the first day of the class, for a refund of fees paid minus a $15 administrative fee. No refunds will be processed after this time.

Drum circles are an effective tool for health and wellness and a breath of fresh air in our stress-filled lives. Studies have shown drumming can be energizing, quiet mental chatter, reduce stress and improve mental clarity. No drumming experience or skills required – everyone has the innate ability to create rhythm! Drums and other percussion instruments provided.

The City of Dublin’s Community Garden is located at Darree Fields Park, 6259 Cosgray Road. Plot space is 15’ x 15’. You don’t need experience, just a willingness to learn and maintain your garden for the duration of the growing season. Plot space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to returning gardeners. Participants must be City of Dublin Residents (proof of residency may be required if current household account is not already on file). Registration opens March 1 for returning gardeners. Youth artists participate in a delightfully offbeat musical adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure about a boy, his insect friends, and an amazing journey across the ocean. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Registration opens 72 hours before the class and closes 24 hours before scheduled class times. Payment of $16 for Dublin residents and $26 for school district and non-residents is due upon class completion.

Get the kids up and moving on a Saturday morning! This introduction to tennis includes lead-up games to develop coordination and strength, followed by ball control drills using forehand and backhand. Serve and volley are introduced. Participants need to bring their own tennis racquet; tennis balls are provided.
