To discuss program options to best suit your child’s needs or interests, please contact Meaghan Campbell, Adaptive Recreation Coordinator, at [email protected] for an inquiry of needs to form an accommodation plan. An accommodation plan could carry over IEP/504 accommodations and must be completed prior to the start of the program. We kindly ask for a 7-day accommodation request window to facilitate this process effectively.

Preschool Open Gym

Preschool Open Gym - 111111

Join us for Preschool Open Gym – the perfect opportunity for your little ones to explore, play, and burn off energy in a fun, safe environment! Our gym is equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment, creating an exciting space for children to engage in unstructured play. Parents are required to participate, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all. Please note, our program has a few important changes and updates for 2025 – read all the details below for more information.

Important Updates for 2025

Registration System
For 2025, we are updating our registration process to better serve our families. Moving forward, Preschool Open Gym will operate through activity registration, and we will no longer offer ticket sales. This new process mirrors the registration structure of our other "Drop-In" style programs at the Dublin Community Recreation Center and allows us to capture additional participant information.

To register your child(ren) for Preschool Open Gym, you need to log into your household account or create one if you do not already have one. Click here to create a household account. When creating a household account, you will be asked to provide the following: full name, household address, date of birth, email, phone number, etc.

During household account creation, you first must add your personal information. Then, you need to add your child(ren) to the household, by selecting "Add Member", in order to register them for the program. You can also add a spouse or another person residing at the same address. Please note: household accounts are intended for individual families, not large groups or organizations.

Program Guidelines
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we plan to carefully follow our participation guidelines outlined below. Please review these rules to help you and your child(ren) make the most of your time in the program. Families who do not adhere to the guidelines may be asked to leave. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a positive environment for all participants. Thank you for helping us create a welcoming and safe space for everyone!

Parent Supervision and Participation
This is an unstructured program, and parent involvement is required at all times. Children must never be left unsupervised. While an Open Gym Supervisor is available, parents are responsible for their child’s safety. Please ensure you are aware of your child’s whereabouts at all times.

Shoes Off
For safety and cleanliness, everyone (parents and children) must remove their shoes before entering the play area. This helps maintain a clean environment and reduces the risk of injury. Please come prepared to go barefoot or wear socks.

Food and Drink Policy
To maintain a clean and safe environment, food and drinks (other than water) are not permitted inside the gym. If your child needs a snack or drink, please use the lobby area.

Health & Hygiene
Diaper Changes: Parents must take their child out of the gym to change diapers.
Illness: If your child becomes sick or vomits during the session, they must leave the gym immediately. The area will be sanitized before the program resumes.

Behavior Expectations
We understand young children are still learning to manage their behavior. However, if a child’s behavior poses a safety concern, the parent may be asked to temporarily remove the child from the program until the issue is resolved.

Respectful Environment
Please be respectful to other parents, children, and staff. If you have concerns, please approach the Open Gym Supervisor for assistance.

Playgroups and Daycares
This program is designed for individual families. We allow a maximum of one adult for every three children (1:3 ratio). If you arrive with more than three children, an additional adult will be required, or you will be turned away for the day. Daycares and organized playgroups are not permitted.

Days Off
Preschool Open Gym is closed on days when Dublin City Schools are not in session. If schools close on a Friday due to weather, Open Gym will not operate. However, delayed school openings do not affect Preschool Open Gym – it will run as scheduled.
Note: There will be no Open Gym on February 14 or March 28.

P.O.G. Pass
The P.O.G. Pass is an easy way to access Preschool Open Gym. This pass costs $30 and includes 11 visits (with one free visit included). It never expires and can be used any time the program is in session. Families with multiple children can share one pass. Passes are available for purchase in person at the DCRC membership desk.

Program Fee
The registration fee is $3.00 per child/per visit or those with a Preschool Open Gym (POG) punch pass can register their child for free and a punch will be deducted on site. All activity registrations are non-refundable. NO REFUNDS, CREDITS, OR TRANSFERS PERMITTED.

We look forward to welcoming you and your little ones to Preschool Open Gym! Thank you for your cooperation in keeping the program safe and enjoyable for everyone.
