Ancient Ohio Survival Camp

Embark on an extraordinary adventure with our Ancient Ohio Survival Camp, nestled in the heart of an archaeological site, Ferris Wright Park. This immersive camp transports participants back in time to explore the fascinating survival skills of the ancient Hopewell Culture while connecting with nature in a unique setting. Camp highlights:

Throwing Spears with Atlatl: Delve into the ancient art of spear throwing and atlatl use. Learn techniques for accuracy, distance, and the historical significance of these tools.

Flint Knapping: Try your hand at the skill of shaping stone tools using traditional methods passed down through generations.

Creek Exploration and Wilderness Awareness: Engage in hands-on creek exploration, fostering an understanding of local ecosystems. Learn essential wilderness awareness skills inspired by ancient Ohioans.

Hopewell Culture History: Immerse yourself in the rich history of the Hopewell Culture that once thrived in Ohio. Explore ancient artifacts, hear captivating stories, and gain insights into their ingenious survival techniques.

Camp Cancellation Policy: We understand that summer plans can change. The City of Dublin makes firm financial commitments to camp staff, field trips and program supplies each summer. Outside of priority registration, all camps and specialty camps cancelled prior to May 17, 2024 will be refunded in full minus a $50.00, non-refundable fee per week, per child. Cancellations made after May 17 will not receive a refund. Transfer requests made after May 17 will not be accepted.

Health Care Forms: A 2024 online health care form is required to participate - Parents/Guardians will receive Health Care Form information via email closer to the start date of the registered camp. This email will be sent from a computer software system, Campsite Management - @mail.campsitemail.com (no-reply email address - do not email this account) - Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the email from Campsite, or contact us for additional help.

What to Bring/Wear: Participants are asked to arrive sun-screened, and should bring a pre-filled water bottle and a nut-free snack. Participants should wear comfortable athletic style clothing and closed toed shoes. No Crocs or Sandals permitted.
